SSC CGL Staff Selection Commission conducts Combined Graduate Level (CGL) competitive examinations every year.

Regional/Sub-regional Offices of SSC

The SSC has nine Regional/Sub-Regional Offices in different parts of the country. These Regional/Sub-Regional Offices are responsible for receipt & processing of applications for various examinations, issue of admit cards to the candidates, conducting the Interviews/PETs (wherever required) either at the Regional Headquarters or other major cities within the regions

Every year staff selection commission (SSC) conducts combined graduate level (CGL) exam for the recruitment of Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ posts.

Eligibility

(a) Nationality :If you want to apply and appear in the SSC CGL Exam, then you must be native of India.

(b) Age Limit :For Statistical Investigator Gr-III post, the Age Limit is 26 years, while for other posts applicants must be in between 18 to 27 years of Age.

(c) Educational Qualifications :Applicants must have completed Degree in any discipline from a recognized university in India.However, for the post of Compiler and Statistical Investigator Grade-III applicants must full fill the below mentioned Eligibility criteria. For Compiler : Applicants must be have completed Degree in Economics, Mathematics OR statistics as Compulsory OR Optional subject. For Statistical Investigator: Applicants must have complete Degree in Statistics OR studied, Maths, Economics, as an elective or compulsory subject. Applicants who have completed B Com, can also apply for statistical Investigator post.

Overview SSC CGL Exam

SSC CGL exam will conduct in three tiers as indicated below –

General Intelligence +Reasoning,General Awareness,Quantitative Aptitude,General English

SSC CGL Tier 2 Syllabus :

The questions will be asked from the following topics and the Time duration details are also given.

This exam will follow below sections for 100 marks:

EXAM Pattern

The question paper include 200 questions from four different sections.

English Language (Basic Knowledge)

General Intelligence

Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill)

General Awareness

There was negative marking of .25 Marks which was deducted for each wrong answer. The candidates have 02 hours to mark maximum correct answers in order to qualify this examination.

The written examination will consist of

(Paper-1) Objective Type Paper

(Paper-2) Descriptive Type

Paper-I

(a). General Intelligence & Reasoning(25 Questions, 25 marks)

(b). Numerical Aptitude(25 Questions, 25 marks)

(c). General English(50 Questions, 50 marks)

(d). General Awareness(50 Questions, 50 marks)

Timings - 2 Hours(General Candidates),2 Hours 40 min(Handicapped Candidates))

Paper-II

Short Essay / Letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution(50 marks)

Timings - 30 Minutes(General Candidates),45 Minutes(Handicapped Candidates))

NOTE-I : Paper-I will consist of Objective Type- Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi. The Commission reserves the right to set the questions additionally in regional languages subject to technical feasibility.

NOTE-II: There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.

NOTE-III: Paper-II will be descriptive in which the candidate will be required to write short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.

NOTE-IV: Paper-II will only be of qualifying nature and is intended to test elementary language skills in view of re-categorization of the post as Group-C and in view of job requirements.

NOTE-V: Paper-II will be held only for such candidates who meet the cut-off prescribed by the Commission in Paper-I for different categories. The date and time of the Paper will be communicated to shortlisted candidates in due course. Commission reserves the right to set separate qualifying standard in any Part of Paper-I.
